Brief description: The MasterCard Foundation Scholarship for African Students is now open for Application at Michigan State University USA for 2016/2017 academic year

About Scholarship
The MasterCard Foundation has partnered with Michigan State University USA to provide full tuition scholarships to undergraduate and master’s students from Sub-Saharan Africa. The university will receive $45 million in funding from the foundation to support 185 scholars throughout the nine-year program, which includes 100 four-year undergraduates and 85 master’s degree students. MSU will host the most scholars among the six U.S. partner institutions.
Students who have demonstrated academic talent, are economically disadvantaged and have a personal commitment to give back to their countries are invited to apply for these scholarships.
Through financial, academic, social and post-graduation support, The Scholars Program will ensure that young people are equipped with the skills and competencies needed to spur economic growth and social development in their respective countries of origin.

Since I was in Senior High School, I have believed, Geography is an important factor in a life. All human activities in several fields such as economics, physics, social and others will run well if they are cited in a good Geographic framework. Currently, my country is rapidly growing in all multi directions. To contribute my effort, there are many needs of Medical geographers, demographer’s agricultural experts and economic development professionals and Teachers. To attend my next educational level, there are number of limitations in my country financially and lack of Advisors.
Master of or PhD in social science is needed in Ethiopia because of the following reasons:
1. To improve socially modernity and cultural development as well as equal distribution of resources and empowering disadvantage groups.
2. I will fill the masters/PhD scarcity and strengthen the sustainable development of Ethiopia.
3. Considering all factors above. I believe that the chosen study will benefit Indonesia in general
I consider myself to be a good candidate for social sciences stream Scholarship because I am young and transiting to Adult age, energetic, hardworking, visionary, and motivated person who believes that I can do something for the benefit of my country to which I have been working.
