Eligibility: –The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences has a strategic ambition of being a leading research faculty. Candidates for these fellowships will be selected in accordance with this, and will be expected to be in the upper segment of their class with respect to academic credentials.
-Applicants must hold a Master’s degree or equivalent in mathematics, with an excellent background in stochastic analysis. The purpose of the fellowship is research training leading to the successful completion of a PhD degree.
-The fellowship requires admission to the PhD programme at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. The application to the PhD programme must be submitted to the department no later than two months after taking up the position.
Scholarship Open for International Students: Norwegian and foreign applicants are eligible for this PhD research fellowship.
Scholarship Description: The research fellow will be attached to the Section for Stochastic Analysis, Finance, Insurance and Risk, and be part of “Stochastics of Renewable Energy Markets (STORE)”. STORE is a 4-year project funded by the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. Information about STORE is found here. The fellow will perform research within one or more of the work packages of STORE’s research plan found here.

Duration of award(s): The fellowship will be for a period of 4 years, with 25 % compulsory work (teaching responsibilities at the Department). Otherwise the fellowship will be for a period of 3 years, with no compulsory work. No one can be appointed for more than one fixed-term period at the same institution. @Umuhire: NO! You are getting something wrong. Scholarships are not instant, you apply, then wait! The scholarship board will not contact you immediately you submit application, they have to review documents from all applicants before reaching back. So keep applying for as many as you see here and expect good news in few months to come. After all you don’t pay to apply, or do you? We are only helping out and deserve some credits! Thank you.
