Free Application: OIFD Scholarship Award Program

OFID has recently announced it’s scholarship awards inviting qualified applicants who have been recently awarded or are about to obtain their undergraduate degree from their respective institutions and who are planning to pursue higher studies or wishing to study for a recognized Master’s degree for the year 2016/2017.

OFID scholarships are awarded to four eligible students or applicants who are interested in pursuing their master’s degree. Only those applicants are eligible to apply for the OIFD scholarship who belong to and reside in a developing country (excluding OFID Member Countries), and have initially obtained admission in a Master’s degree program in a relevant field of development, from anan internationally recognized university or college.

With its scholarship program, OFID wants to help highly driven, highly motivated and focused individuals who are interested in overcoming their biggest hindrance and obstacle in their careers – the exorbitant cost of graduate studies from an internationally recognized institution.

To apply for the OIFD Scholarship Program, applicants must have obtained their undergraduate degree.

Program Duration:

Candidates who win the OFID Scholarship Award will be awarded a scholarship of around US$50,000. The scholarship funds will be provided for a an entire year leading to the completion of the winning candidate’s completion of Master’s degree, or its equivalent, at an internationally accredited educational institution. The academic program must start in the autumn of academic year 2016/2017.

Application Submission and Deadline:

Application submission for OIFD Scholarship Program for academic year 2016/17 is May 1, 2016.

Basic Eligibility Criteria:

All applicants

  • Must be from the 23-32 age group when they submit their application.
  • Must have acquired their internationally recognized undergraduate degree or have been awarded a Baccalaureate by an accredited college/university.
  • Must have obtained a minimum cumulative 3.0 G.P.A or 4.0 on the rating system, or its equivalent.
  • Must have acquired his/ her admission into an an accredited university for the following academic year that starts in August/September 2016, and is committed to full-time attendance for the full duration of his/her Master’s Degree.
  • Must be a citizen or national of a developing country (excluding all OFID Member Countries)
  • Must pick a subject or study discipline that pertains to OFID’s main mission, for instance: the economics of development (Energy development, poverty reduction, sustainable development), environment and various other subjects related to science and technology fields.
